Hold me close

Hold me close and don’t let go;
I’m so scared to be alone.
I’ve been by myself for too long,
And always had to be strong.
Now I only want to rest;
And lay my head on your chest.
Hold me close and don’t let go;
These wars I fight no one knows.
Now whisper how you love me,
Say it tender and softly.
I am weary and soon will sleep,
But with you no longer will I weep.
So hold me close and don’t let go,
For I never want to be alone.

The Ruse

She’s beauty, style, poise and grace,
At least she appears to be.
But no one knows the girl who hides
Behind the face they see.

Her self-esteem is all but gone,
Of her ego there’s barely a trace.
There’s so much pain behind the mask
She wears upon her face.

Depression has controlled her life
With far too many tears,
Her smile is fake; she’s good at it,
She’s been doing it for years.

The cover is what attracts us,
To the story within the book.
And she’s afraid that without the ruse,
No one would bother to look.

Despair

Loneliness is…
The empty feeling that comes from within

Loneliness is…
The longing to share your thoughts and feelings with someone

Loneliness is…
Reaching out for open arms to find none there

Loneliness is…
Standing in a crowded room, but feeling alone

Loneliness is…
Picking up a phone, but having no one to call

Loneliness is…
Knowing there is no one thinking of you

Depression is…
Feeling alone

Depression is…
Knowing this will never change

Depression is…
Knowing your best isn’t good enough

Depression is…
Knowing nothing you do matters

Depression is…
Realizing your best days are gone

Depression is…
Looking forward to the end

Depression is…
Knowing no one really cares that you are looking forward to the end.

Bullets and Lies

Where is the laughter,
The smiles of real friends,
The jokes that they tell
That stick ’till the end

And where’s all the fun
The joy of this life
Smiles that surround me
Went under the knife

And where’s all the love
The love few still feel
The love kept inside
All locked up and sealed

So why did you tell me
It’d be so much more
That people would care
Just not like before

I guess you were wrong
The stories you told
Were all of false hope
You fed me and sold

‘Cause I can’t see what’s real
As hard as I try
And all I can find
Are bullets and lies

Nobody Knows

And needs her heart mended
But she has learned that nothing good
Ever happens to her and she must
Learn to deal with the pain
Or sacrifice herself
Nobody could ever understand
The hurt the forces have put against her
She knows how bad it hurts when
You wish upon a star and it
Doesn’t come true
She knows just what to say to save herself
From the storm
Nobody knows the pain that she
Holds inside
She’s so lost and confused by the words that
have been embedded into her soul
…………Nobody Knows………….

MOTHER’S ARMS

I wish I was a child again,

Nestled in my mother’s arms.

I long to hear “It’ll be all right,”

As she gently strokes my hair.

‘Cause grownup problems can seem too tough.

Hard to face them on my own.

I wish I was a child again,

Nestled in my mother’s arms.

I Remember The Used

I remember the used,
The ones abused,
Beaten to depression,
Tears of pain,
Lost in confusion,
A world black of hate.

Crying tunes of hate,
The minds of the used,
Now filled with confusion,
Their lives abused,
A state of pain,
The chain of depression,

The memories of depression,
The faces of hate,
Weighed down by pain,
Beaten and used,
The ones abused,
lost in confusion.

The label of confusion,
On a plate of depression,
Given to those abused,
The planted seeds of hate,
A bush beaten and used,
The thorns of pain.

An orchestra of pain,
With notes of confusion,
A song called used,
Interments of depression,
Plays tunes of hate,
To those abused.

This me world abused,
My life a world of pain,
Memories of hate,
The smell of confusion,
The darkness of my depression,
A life used.

The path for the used and abused,
Confusion of those in depression,
The hate caused by pain.

MY LONLINESS

Alone I sleep,
And alone I wake,
Alone I dream,
And alone I ache,

Alone I live,
And alone I cry,
Alone I think,
And alone I’ll die,

Alone I try,
And alone I fall,
Alone I fail,
And alone I crawl,

Alone I break,
And alone I sit,

Alone I was,
Alone I am,
And alone I’ll always be.

Alone on Sea

Alone i lay on a wooden raft
Alone i stay in the dark
Alone i pray to survive
Alone i may not survive

Alone i look out the sea
Alone i wake up on the sea
Alone i seek out for help
Alone i may not survive

Alone i eat my dry food
Alone i drink the salty water
Alone i sit in the cold
Alone i may not survive

Alone, yes, alone i stare at the storm
Alone, yes, alone i live on the sea
Alone, yes, alone i wait for the rescue boat
Alone, yes, alone i may not survive

Alone, yes, alone i pray to be safe
Alone, yes, alone i call out for help
Alone, yes, alone i get on the boat
Alone, yes, alone i was rescued

Alone, yes, alone i lived on sea for months
Alone, yes, alone i walk ashore unaided
Alone, yes, alone i continue to hold the
Guinness World Record for survival at sea
