Poem for Summer

Laughter of Lilacs
Rainbows of roses
Songs of the robins
Lily of the valley borders
Sunshine to warm the heart
Oh what joy this season does impart!

The Day of Hope

The Day of Hope, hid beneath Sorrow’s veil,
Has shown its face–ah, cry that all may hear:
Come forth! the powers of night no more prevail!
Praise be to God, now that the rose is near
With long-desired and flaming coronet,
The cruel stinging thorns all men forget,
The wind of Winter ends its proud career.

Endless Hope

Endless Hope
The endless hope
I’ve tried
I gave it my all
I gave all my hope
To be with you
Endless Hope
That you brought to me
Hope that will never be there
Hope that is empty inside
Hope with no love
Hope that will never came
True
Endless Hope
For us
For friendship between
For all that are lost
You’re my endless hope
Endless Hope

Marriage Is an Antidote for Time

Marriage is an antidote for time
As two stop time by swearing not to change,
Resisting what makes every moment strange,
Removing what makes all alone and blind.
In time, of course, the lovers will succumb
As everything must change, including love,
Granting but the grace that in them moved,
Eternal, though in time an end must come.

If I Had Married You Instead of Her

If I had married you instead of her,
I would not now be seething with regret,
Trapped by children, choked by dreams that were
My hopes before my life turned desolate.

I would not now be seething with regret
For having married more for lust than love.
My hopes before my life turned desolate
Now live but in the darkness where you move.

For having married more for lust than love,
I’m punished with a wife whom I despise.
I live but in the darkness where you move,
My hopes the harvest of your haunting eyes.

I’m punished with a wife whom I despise,
Trapped by children, choked by dreams that were
My hopes . . . The harvest of your haunting eyes,
If I had married you instead of her.

The Best Is Yet To Be

On your joyful wedding day,
You begin a brand new life.
Friends and family give their gifts
To joyful husband, blissful wife. But the greatest gift you’ll ever get,
A gift from heaven above,
Is love forever, ending never,
Everlasting love. You’ll share life’s joy and pleasure;
You’ll have plenty of that, it’s true.
But love is the real treasure
For your new spouse and you. And if life hands you challenges,
As it does to one and all,
Your love will hold you steady
And never let you fall. Your wedding day is full of joy;
Tomorrow you cannot see.
But one thing’s sure for the two of you:
The best is yet to be.

One Saturday Evenin…

One Saturday evening, down the window I was seeing,
Up came her call, down the bed was I about to fall.
My heart started ringing like a bell;
Picked up the phone and amused of what to tell.
Down came her offer, and she didn’t have a chauffer,
She wants to go out with me,
Clogging my mind were thoughts of it being a mystery or reality;

Ecstatic I started jumping and screaming,
Happiness in my life suddenly, I was dreaming,
A romantic melody, I started singing.
Down I came to earth, as the phone again started ringing.
The rain started pouring very hard,
“Doubt whether we can go out”, she said, which made me sad,
Savaging my dreams was the rain.
Tears started rolling out, as I couldn’t take the pain.

Suddenly thy rained mercy,
Desperate to go out, I prayed he could see.
Picked up my phone and gave her a call,
Now can we go out my Miss Tall?
Down I saw my cutest friend’s missed call,
Rushed up, I gave her a call.
Got the news, both were so elated,
Stepping on my door was happiness, even so it was belated.
Tensed and lying I got out of my house,
Desperate to go out with her, and wanted to make her my spouse.
Waiting for her at the bus stand,
So elated I was, didn’t see the fate coming in my hand.
There I saw her coming,
Cool and relaxed I was trying and pretending.
Down she came from her ride,
I kept looking at her eyes, standing on the road side.

She came towards me, crossing the road,
Croaking was my heart, lyk a frog on toad.
We were sitting opposite to each other,
Gazing at her eyes, which looked crystal as a mirror.
We started having a chat,
Reminded me of a day where she was wearing a pink cool hat.
Praising thee, so beautiful she was looking.
A blessed man I am was the only thing that I was thinking.
Time went on, around came our destination,
Just sit and watch her eyes, was my only inclination.
Came down from the cab and paid the fare,
The cabbie said I know you love her and take care.
Inside the shop we went,
Buying a watch was her intent.
She liked a cool and sexy clock,
Paid for it, out from the shop we were about to walk.

About to go for the dinner, I put hands inside my pocket,
Scared and embarrassed I didn’t find my wallet.
Didn’t know what should I tell,
Swinging my head and I was about to fell.
Told her about this unfortunate incident,
She advised me that I should have been prudent.
This was the only thing that had to happen,
All my planned dreams were shaken.
Nothing to help me and I was completely broken,
I couldn’t give her the gift which had been stolen.

Distorted and dejected, wanted to drop her back home.
I knew that my fortunes were walking on soapy foam.
Took a cab and dropped her at the bus stand,
Drenched and lonely in the rain I had to stand.
As she got on to her ride, the distance seemed wide
Got a last glance her eyes and I knew the upcoming demise.
On her ride she went away, putting me all to sway.
In that heavy rain I was crying,
Nothing I could achieve even if so hard I was trying

Persuit of Happiness

Everyone wants it all
But all I want is good grades
It’s more than a paper marked with a messy scrawl
This is a reflection of my future that will never fade

I try so fucking hard
Yet I get a satisfactory mark in return
Do tell me, do you like to catch me off guard
Soon as I think it’s healing, you splash cold water on my burn

Give me good grades that will treat me well
And won’t have a crush on my friends
Life’s never fair; it’s more unfair than you can tell
So get me those damn marks to make amends

All I know is I’m on my pursuit to happiness
And only thing that will be there for me in the end is my grades
They’ll get me a job; they’ll make me laugh; they’ll support me with their bigheartedness

They won’t ignore me,
use me and shave off the lining of inspiration and hope in my head
with their blades of ignorance and indifference to see
the things they left unsaid, and never pay the price for what they should have done instead

The Do Dat Man

There was a man,
Who wore a fat hat
And on the fat hat…
It said, “Do Dat”!

His wife did not like
That fat hat!
So she knocked it off,
Revealing his fat!

She yelled! “Don’t you ever…
Ever wear that hat!
Or tell me “Go do dat”!
Cuz’ I will hit you with my bat”!

I will swing high…
And I will swing low…
And you will be hurting…
From your head…to your toe!

But the man was stubborn…
He was a stubborn old fool.
In his previous life,
He must have been a mule!

Maybe he didn’t hear her,
Or maybe he forgot…
But the man said “Do Dat!”
And he said it a lot!

He yelled! “Do Dis’!
And barked, “Gim’me Dat”!
“I’m very busy”!
He said, as he sat!

I must hold down this chair
And make sure it won’t float!
I have to watch T.V.!
And use “MY” remote!

You may sit in your chair…
And you may watch your show,
But if you say “Do Dat!”
I will leave…I will go!

You should say “Please”
And you should say ‘Thank You”
You should cover your mouth,
Before you go haachooo!

From now on,
From here on out,
You must say “Please”
Or you will do without!

But the man did not hear her
Or he did not understand!
It was as if all of her words…
Were from some foreign land!

It was strange…he never heard her
When she said, “Here’s the rake”!
Yet, he always seemed to hear her
When she said, “Here’s some cake”!

The man kept speaking…
In his same old manner!
He had no couth…
And he had no manners!

But then one day…
His wife heard a word
And it was a word…
She had never ever heard!

“Honey, will you “Please
Grab your …dictionary?
And look up this word…
The word “Pictionary”!

The man did not respond,
He just stared into space.
There was no sign of life,
Not even a trace.

It took him a while,
Because he moves very slow,
But about an hour later,
He said these words below:

It is not in
This book of words!
“Pictionary”
Is not a word!

She did not believe it…
She had to see for herself.
So she grabbed the book
Back off of the shelf!

She looked in the book…
And what did she see!
There were no words…
That started with ‘P” or “T’!

The words went from “O” to “Q”!
And they went from “S” to “U”!
There was no “Pictionary”,
No “Please” and no “Thank You”!

So she went to the store…
And she bought a new book.
She gave it to her man…
And said, “Please, have a look”!

He studied the words
And made a new list
And he loves to use them,
Since he knows they exist!

He says many “Thank Yous”
And he says many “Pleases”
And he covers his mouth now,
Whenever he sneezes!

He still sits in his chair
And he watches T.V.,
But he has great manners
And his wife is happy!
