California dreaming

California dreaming
How lonely my hearts feeling

I remember her scent,
as the wind blew by
The thought of her love,
turned to a sigh
The west coast breeze ,
blew back my hair
The wind scares up the love we shared
A love so sweet,
so long ago
The wind blows on to let me know
That she’s gone forever
and I miss her so

Soul Love

Stars which shine for you and I
Open hearts, thoughts entwined.
Under dappled tree cast shade
Love so pure, a connection made.

Lips which kiss the pain away
Only you kept the demon dreams at bay
Viewing the past I shall not weep
Everyday the love you send I keep.

Gone But Not Forgotten

Though the mortal coil is shed, thy spirit is not dead.
For as long as I sail the vast and open sea;
Thy love shall e’re remain with me.

Tears like a willow fall, as I now recall
Those days so fresh and so new
When every thought seemed filled with you.

I regret not, those precious moments shared,
Or when we laid more than, our souls bare.
The time I have spent with thee,
Has truly helped set me free.

Rest assured my love and friend
As you reach your journey’s end.
No anger, nor bitterness have I
Held within these tears I cry.

The sadness that doth my heart fill,
Is the longing to be with you still.
But you are gone,
And for now I must move on.

Inside I wait. . .
For that day, at the pearly gate.
When all that we dreamed and long for shall come true
When I rest in arms of my love, which is you.

Junky Car

What smoke, that is choking us
The people ask, nobody knows what it is
An old car that is honking
With tricycle tires and a motor that is backwards
I wait in the corner
Like always his faithful girlfriend
My friends are laughing
Whispering things about him

Old car, step by step
Don’t stop coming
Old car, little by little
Don’t you leave us
Old car, step by step
Don’t stop coming
Old car, little by little
Don’t you leave us

Look girls, I’m not sorry
And I’m not ashamed of my man
Even though he is poor and has an old car
He treats me like a queen, a man of truth
And even though he has an old car
What’s important is that I’m going with him
He isn’t the most handsome
But he’s my faithful boyfriend

Old car, step by step
Don’t stop coming
Old car, little by little
Don’t you leave us
Old car, step by step
Don’t stop coming
Old car, little by little
Don’t you leave us

Silver Car Leaving

Its been so long since I have seen your face
So long since I have fallen
I know for certain my heart was true
By the pain I still struggle with
You walked away so long ago
And left me broken and alone
I can still feel the cracks of pain left along the seams of my destiny
As you pulled away from my life
As you drove off behind the wheel of your silver car
Urethral in appearance
I once had thought you would save me
But you left me alone and forgotten
Many moons have set and risen
As I cried out my sorrow
I used to yearn for your reappearance
But I have given up on the fantasy
I can not divulge my holding on
My greatest fear is to forget that feeling
To learn it was falsified from the beginning
How can my heart mend and restart
When all it yearns for is to once again be in your presence
You made me feel special and cherished
Maybe for you I did the same
You were not too young to fall in love
Just too young to stay there
You drove away behind the wheel of your silver car
And I am still not over it
I wish you could have been the man I needed
As well as the man I loved
I wish I was the one you wanted
I wish that things were different
That it would have been together that we drove away in your silver car

Who Wants to be a Millionaire?

Six little numbers is all it would take.
Oh what a difference those six numbers would make.
Why, I would give up my job and live like a queen
and visit the places that I’ve never seen.

I would buy a big house with its own swimming pool,
party all night and act like a fool,
I would wear the best clothes money could buy,
buy my own plane and learn how to fly.

I would do all the things that I’ve never done
like ski in the snow and bask in the sun.
I would wear diamond rings that sparkle and shine
I could do as I pleased, the choice would be mine.

hey…… but wait a minute

What of my friends if I left them behind?
If I travelled the world, no better I’d find
and if I gave up work, yes I’d sure miss the mob,
so it’s better, I think to hold on to my job.

I don’t need a big house, why I’d feel out of place
and whatever would I do with that extra space.
To buy expensive clothes would just be a crime
where would I wear them? I’m at work all the time!

To fly my own plane with flashing lights?
Who am I kidding, I can’t even stand heights.
I would probably pass out and make such a fuss
so I think I’ll stick to the number 8 bus.

As for skiing, I guess I’m a little too old.
If there’s one thing I hate it’s the freezing cold.
So skiing is out, let’s forget the peaks.
Why, if I broke a leg I’d be off work for weeks.

So why do I need to win lots of money,
to sit down and count it, that would be funny.
I should be grateful for the things I have got
and accept that I’m poor and that’s my lot.

hey……but wait a minute

I work all the week and that’s a right pain
and the day I get off it pours down with rain.
I have lots of mates and their problems they share
by the end of the day I could pull out my hair.

It’s all work and no play, every day is the same
by the end of the week you forget your own name.
You have the boss on your back and targets to meet.
You’re standing all day and get corns on your feet.

Money is tight and the larder is bare,
my flat is so cramped I could never share.
I relax for a while, help is on its way.
At the end of the month I at least get my pay

“I can’t take anymore” I always blubber,
The money’s almost gone, I soon discover.
So weighing things up I seem to find
yet once again I’ve changed my mind.

well……………….

Friends come and go and life’s a real bitch,
so lord let me be stone filthy rich.
Just send me six numbers its easy for you
just five and the bonus ball please… that will do!

Car Repairs

We spend our money on new cars,
Hoping for a break,
From car repairs and all such stuff
Those things our money take.

Before too long, we find we’re wrong
Back to the shop we go.
We get a bill that robs our thrill,
And almost all our dough.

Back on the road, we head for home,
Assured that all is well;
We see the smoke, it blinds our view-
What is that awful smell?

We grab the wheel and pull off quick,
Our nerves are on the border.
Then we discover what’s the matter
The rad is dry-no water!

When that is done, we feel relief,
We head on down the trail.
“What’s that,” you ask, “behind us now?”
A cop is on my tail.

He tickets me, but it’s not fair;
I don’t believe it’s right;
He said to me, it was my fault,
I had just one tail light.

Down the road, it’s getting late,
I’m madder now than fire;
Almost home, three miles away,
….I have a flat tire.

Once that is fixed, I drive on home,
Pull in my yard to stay.
“Repossess it, come and get it,
I’m not going to pay!”

And so it is, the car is gone,
Let’s sit and have a talk.
But if we want to go somewhere,
By golly, we will walk.

A Soldier’s Prayer

It’s time to sleep
I’ve been relieved

My rifle at my side
My knife in it’s sheath

Lord let me live another day
As I put myself in harms way

I made my choice, I took the oath
I stand for freedom, but I don’t boast

My God, my country, my family
The things I hold so dear

With these all on my side
There’s nothing for me to fear

But if I should fall before my next relief
I will stand before you Lord with honor and dignity

So, while I’m here please make me strong
To fight the battles and right what’s wrong

God Bless America

War

I lie in my hammock and think
Of wars long ago.
I think of World War II,
Of men dying,
Hitler and Jews.
I think of Pearl Harbor
And the Japanese bombings
Of Hiroshima and Nagasaki,
All the innocent people
Lost for no good cause or reason.

War is bad and evil
There are so many bad wars
I could not name them all
I hope that some day the wars are rid.

And all this time I sit and think,
Of all the men caught up in war
Who aren’t there normal selves
And wars I wish that would not be.

Sad Day

Sad, sad, day
Just when it seems
That life joyfully gleams
Sad, sad, day
Is brought our way,

Sad day, Go away
Go away, sad day,
Little Johnny want’s to play
So, sad day, just hide behind the sun,
Little Johnny wants to be happy and have some fun

Sad, sad day
This sorrow is just nature’s way,
Showing something isn’t right,
It does no good to try and fight
the sad, sad, sad, sad, sad, sad, sad, day
But we can wish that it will go away,
And it will, someday, someday, someday, someday, someday, someday, someday.
Wether it be, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday or Sunday,
The sad day shall dissappear like a migician’s assistant,
If only our search for happiness is ever so persistent.
