End Of Innocence

Secrets, secrets
Lies, lies
She sits in her room,
and cries and cries.
There’s no more trust
In this girl’s heart.
She finally found out
That life isn’t perfect.
She lived in dreams,
As children often do.
But she crawled out
Into the world everyone knew.
Things that once were.
Happiness once known;
The truth of it all
To her was shown.
Her little heart
Will never trust again.
She’ll never know
A real true friend.
No more trust,
For no more lies.
She’ll sit in her room
And cry and cry

She Stole Me

She stole me, my identity
My personality
What I live for, What I breath for,
What I’d fight for, what I’d die for.

You told them it was your idea
You lied to them about your taste
The way you dressed
The way you wore your hair
The way you did your make-up

She stole my, my identity
My personality
What I live for, What I breath for
What I’d fight for, what I’d die for

I met a guy, who knew her from school
We dated for a while
He mentioned you a lot
It seemed he asked you first and you rejected him
he hurt me; he caused me pain; because of you

She stole my, my identity
My personality
What I live for, What I breath for
What I’d fight for, what I’d die for

All i know, is that i am me
You are you
You can never be me
I can never be consumed by you
It won’t work, even though….

She stole my, my identity
My personality
What I live for, What I breath for
What I’d fight for, what I’d die for

Identity of a person

Identity of a person
Identity signifies complexity
Identity identifies with reality
Identity is the bearer of all vanity
How does a person identify with identity?

You define yourself based on what?
They say, they say
You’re kind or moral based on what?
Or
You’re a genius and shrewd based on what?
Or
You make the perfect lover, look for no other

They say, they say
You’re strong without a thought it may not last long
Or
You’ve skills since with a record you run up high bills
Or
You are shy but no one ever talks to you or says hi
Or
You never give up because right now you are on top

They say, they say
You are generous or gregarious when all you are is conscious
Or
You’re innovative yet not the originator of the idea conceived

What are the facts?
That makes your identity intact
When change on identity has the last impact?

Yesterday, Today And Tomorrow

Cherished are the memories that
Brought us to this day,
For yesterday, was just a dream …
A wish to contemplate.

A fantasy where in my mind,
A fleeting glimpse I’d see …
A vision of the true desires
I longed for endlessly.

And when I dreamed, I did not know
The love I’d feel today;
The height of my true feelings,
And the depths they would portray.

And if I had one wish today,
A simple wish t’would be …
Is that the love we feel this moment,
Lasts eternally.

Reality has merged now
As you stand here by my side;
And as I join your hand in mine,
My heart does fill with pride.

For as I pledge my love to you,
I see in many ways,
Reflections of my love for you
Are mirrored in your gaze.

And by our presence here today,
And for the love we share,
I thank you for our yesterdays
That brought us to be here.

But more than this, I vow to you,
My wishes yet to come …
Tomorrow’s dreams and fantasies,
This day that we are one.

Tomorrow’s an adventure
That we’ll share together now;
Our future’s intertwined forever,
Through this holy vow.

I promise to remember
In the future years and days,
The love I feel for you this moment …
… Dreams fulfilled today.

For in the coming years as we
Move on, and reminisce,
Back to the day I stood with you
And promised with a kiss …

That blessed are the days that
I have looked into your eyes,
And felt the warmth and love reflect,
The essence of our lives.

*****

Yesterday we dreamed of what might be;
Today we validate our love;
And tomorrow we will cherish the life we have shared as one.

I will be your husband

For better or for worse
I will be your husband
But of you I quietly demand
Obedience and respect
I am the man of house
I am the man who’s intellect

For a just cause
I will be your husband
I expect of you no fuss
When I have the last say
Of how we are to operate
each and everyday especially today

A Poem of Hunting, Fishing, and a Truck

Hunting, Fishing and my Truck

I throw my gun in the back of my truck
With it I hope to kill a 12-point buck
While in the woods, BANG! I see the deer fall
I take him home, freeze the meat, and mount his horns on my wall

I grab my pole and tackle box and head to the lake
At this time in the morning, I feel barely awake
There is no school today, I’m glad there is no class
A mighty tug on my line, I hook a large mouth bass

There is nothing like hunting; waiting for the kill
Cutting and cleaning the meat my freezer I’ll soon fill
Deer steaks and deer jerky have such a great taste
And with his head on my wall nothing goes to waste

I like fishing, fishing is fun
Fishing underneath the rising sun
I like catching the fish and putting them in a net
Fish is a great dish when the table is set

My truck is unstoppable; it can’t beat
I slam the door and strap myself in the seat
I start the engine and press the gas to the floor
My truck takes off and my engine lets out a roar

I wouldn’t be able to hunt or fish if it wasn’t for my truck
With it I carry poles, guns, and my fallen buck
I pull my boat with my truck in four-wheel-drive
At my destination I always arrive

Treasure Hunting

Treasure Hunting

Soon to be a low moon and elsewhere
   fire. Lucky mountain shone copper
but not to pocket. Not that kind of angel

between maybe and the blaze. Asked
to hold my baby. Didn't envy gravity
to lug its chubby moon from under.

Dear dire said the radio and oh I was
its girl. Called it a silver un-bridge
a single listing trestle. Someday sounded

the siren of a false all-clear. May I?
My skein all un-spun under fire.
  The spider alive in ...

Dignity in the Home

All the chairs and the long brown couch just lay
down on the floor in a line and the thin
curtains joined them, sort of on the side
or fluttering down onto them and I watched
thinking this is the kind of loneliness I
should've known about and this is nonsense: I object.
But the furniture line was so heavy
it went right out the door and some of my
neighbors' lamps joined in, the tails
of extension cords and paths of towels and bedding
went straight down the lawn to the lake where
even my toothbrush and coffee mug with the cats
on it had slunk, so dejected it didn't
even matter they were in the water with some
cold rocks and a clam. All were loaded down
with the despair so poignant in furnishings, each
I tried to coax back into the house, gathering
the alarm clock and frying pan from the lake,
but, almost politely, they moved from
my hands back down to that cold home
with the fierce clam, who guarded them
from my confusion. They were so quiet
about it, I love them. My pajamas floated
with such purpose, reached for the laces of one of my
old tennis shoes out nearly to the reef,
reached without expectation.

The House

It was a house
Of many absences

Dust settled on her bed

Outside, the green of mountains blue
Inside, the shadowy dim of things we knew

I met you here
This empty house

Echoes spliced between silence and quiet
Nothing etched from nothingness

A Horse Racing Legend

Along comes a horse
So powerful and sleek
He runs with his heart
Not his feet.

The heart of a champion
Is what this horse has
The looks of eagles in his eyes
Just as

He runs and runs with all his heart
While the crowd is awed with his amazing arts
He crosses the wire in first
And becomes a legend, know

In a time of need
This horse has shown power
He shows no fear
At the passing hour

From a broken-down claimer,
To a racer with heart
This horse has become
A Legend, no doubt

We all lose a few
But it doesn’t matter much
If your a horse like this
With spirit and punch.
